Hoisting Continuing Ed

As of Sept 1, 2014 anyone holding a Massachusetts Hoisting Engineers License issued by the Dept of Public Safety will be required to obtain Continuing Education Hours in order to renew their license.

Effective Nov 18, 2016. Hours of Continuing Education has changed to the following:

Below are the Classes of Licenses and the Hours that are needed.

Class 1A,1B,1C – 2Hours of Regulatory & Industry Standards Training and 2 hours of Equipment Specific Training.

Class 1D – 1 Hours of Regulatory & Industry Standards Training and 1 hours of Equipment Specific Training.

Class 2A,2B,2C,2D –  2 Hours of Regulatory & Industry Standards Training and 2 hours of Equipment Specific Training.

Class 3A – 2Hours of Regulatory & Industry Standards Training and 2 hours of Equipment Specific Training.

Class 4A – IS NO LONGER

Class 4B,4C,4D,4E,4F,4G – 1 Hour of Regulatory & Industry Standards Training and 1 hour of Equipment Specific Training.

This was done to reduce the redundancy of the continuing education classes.

Example: If you have a 1B/2A/4B license. You will need 2 hours of Regulatory & Industry Standards Training and 2 hours of Equipment Specific Training for the 1B, 2 hours of Equipment Specific Training for the 2A and 1 hour of Equipment Specific Training  for the 4B. For a total of 7 hours of training compared to 10 hours like in the past.
